Nissan have today began production of the new Nissan Leaf model, in their huge Sunderland car plant. This will be news to customers who shall be expecting their new models in February.

The eagerly anticipated new model comes with new features such as  e-Pedal, ProPILOT, and Intelligent Emergency Braking.

The Leaf has been in production since 2013 in the UK, and with a reported £36million investment in the Nissan Sunderland plant, there looks to be another 2000 jobs created in the Nissan Supply Chain.

In 2016 the plant celebrated it’s 30th birthday, and in 2017 the amount of cars produced reported to have passed the 9 million mark, making the plant the biggest UK plant of all time.
