Electric Vehicles to overtake ICE vehicles

Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular in the auto industry, and they are projected to overtake internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles soon. According to recent studies, electric cars are set to overtake global car sales by 2040.

The UK government has announced plans to end the sale of all new petrol, diesel, and hybrid cars and vans by 2030. This move is part of a wider effort to reduce the UK’s emissions and combat climate change.

Under the proposals, new sales of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles will be banned from 2030 onwards. Electric vehicles (EVs), plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles will be exempt from this ban as they produce significantly lower levels of emissions than ICE cars.

The government also aims to bring in financial incentives for car buyers to encourage them to switch from ICE vehicles to EVs or PHEVs. This could include purchases being subsidised, tax incentives for those who opt for an electric vehicle over an ICE one or we could see another scrappage scheme.

In addition, the government is looking into ways it can help increase EV charging infrastructure so that drivers can have easy access when travelling long distances in their EVs – something that many consumers currently worry about when considering making the switch away from ICE cars.

In the past few years, electric vehicles have come a long way. These cars have become more efficient and reliable due to advances in technology, and their range has increased greatly too. Thanks to this progress, electric cars can now compete with ICE vehicles on performance as well as price. This is one of the reasons why more people are choosing EVs over traditional cars. The environmental benefits of electric vehicles also make them attractive for buyers who care about their environmental impact. Electric cars produce no emissions during operation, so they do not negatively affect air quality or contribute to climate change like ICE cars do when running on fossil fuels like petrol or diesel. In addition, EVs require less maintenance than traditional engines which saves owners time and money in the long run.

In conclusion with increasing range capabilities, better performance, cost savings via maintenance & government incentives it doesn’t seem far off that EV’s will be taking over from traditional engine powered automobiles.
