McNally EV's App is Now Live
Every property is different. However, we have developed a standard installation package that covers over 80% of the EV charger installations we complete.
A standard installation typically includes:
If your installation falls within these parameters, no additional charges will apply beyond the agreed quotation.
Where additional work is required beyond the standard specification, the installation will be classed as non-standard or custom.
This may be necessary if:
In such cases, we will provide a clear and transparent quotation outlining any additional materials or labour required. Once approved, we will schedule the installation accordingly.
Additional works and materials may include:
An SPD protects both your property and your vehicle from damage caused by electrical power surges.
If your existing consumer unit contains a Type AC RCD, this must be upgraded to a Type A RCD in line with current IET Wiring Regulations to provide protection against DC leakage.
Where cables cannot be clipped to a permanent structure, they must be safely buried underground. Cables cannot be laid across open ground due to the risk of damage and trip hazards.
Cable runs exceeding 15 metres will incur additional charges. Please note that cable measurement includes vertical and horizontal routing — not simply the straight-line distance between the power supply and charger.
More than 6 metres of trunking or installations requiring more than four directional bends may incur additional costs.
Complex cable routes may require extended installation time or multiple engineers, which may result in additional labour charges.
Protective bonding must be in place before an EV charger can be installed.
Bonding ensures protection against electric shock and fire risk and is a regulatory requirement.
